Potbelly`s Riverside Cafe in Rockaway

I work in the area occasionally, I love eating here, seeing the old train makes it quaint. Service is good food is good, portions are better than expected. Outdoor seating as weather permits makes it that much better.

Potbelly's is a hidden gem! For several years this has been one of my favorite places to eat at. Good food, good service, affordable, and a nice atmosphere. Also, a good feeling to support an independently owned restaurant.

Nice cafe! The service varies. I had a great male server the first time and delicious eggs Benedict. I don't recommend the chicken pesto the pesto isn't very good. Cute location!

Waited for my food for 30 minutes for my breakfast order (for 1). Then asked the waitress how much longer will it take. She had no idea. Said there are a couple of tickets before mine. I just left. There were very few people in the cafe and the priority was given to the “to-go” orders. I worked in several restaurants, priority is always given to the customer in-house. Heard couple of other people complaining in the cafe. It seemed like the staff didn’t care much about their in-house customers.

Used to love this place always had great food but....This is the 2nd time we requested a Medium Rare burger and got it well done both times.Very disappointed. We specified to the waitress our previous problem and emphasized rare and again well done.The waitress wrote well on the order.Not sure we will be back

Real nice place. Old storefront type building from the 50. Great place for lunch. Good specials and regular menu is good. I usually get a samwich but got the meatloaf this time. Different from others I really liked it. Make a great burger too. They are remodeling right now they may be on TV soon.

Reuben was great

My wife and I come here a couple of times a month. The service is friendly and fantastic and the food has never disappointed. My favorites are the chicken francaise and the short rib and my wife’s is the salmon which they often have prepared different ways on the specials menu. When I’m sick it’s my go-to for their delicious chicken noodle soup. We also have used them for take out as well as catering for a party at our home. It’s BYOB if that’s your thing.

This spot is worth trying. They have large portions for affordable rates. Constantly clean and with fantastic vibes. Will come back again.

People were friendly, food was meh and the place needs a good scrub at minimum, really a remodel

Delicious good at a great value. I've enjoyed everything I've tried there so far. The Turkey & Swiss Panini with the tomato soup are one of my favorite combos!

Inside needs a little work but I was pleasantly surprised, the food was quite good

food well cooked and abundant service and no fault of the waitress but because she was alone very slow but still not bad and then she would need a freshen up there is smell of old age

Great local Luncheonette breakfast lunch and dinner

Ordered a cheese steak and my wife the mozzarella chicken wrap with the black bean Chipotle soup. Cheese steak had no flavor, the meat was bland and a very skimpy portion. The only thing I could taste was bread. The chicken wrap had 2 little bites of chicken and 1 small sliver of mozzarella. The soup tasted like vinegar with a black bean paste. We will not return and spend our hard earned money!!!

Got take out, wasn't bad. One day have to try eating there.

Did not give me the pasta I ordered with my chicken entree, did not give me the apple juice that was supposed to come with my daughters Mac n cheese, and the Mac n cheese had a small hair in it so that was rather disappointing.

Great food and service

Even though Potbelly's doesn't look like a snazzy place on the outside or the inside for that matter the food is phenomenal. I've been going there for years and I've never been disappointed. I especially like going there for breakfast but have also been there for lunch and dinner. Service is good and you really can't beat the prices.I was there the other morning and had their crab cakes Benedict. You get two small crab cakes on a muffin with a poached egg and Bearnaise sauce. Really really good. Don't miss this gem

Decent little place if your driving to fast you might miss it, disco fries were homemade gravy was awesome

07/09/2018: Doing business in the area today. Had some time for lunch. A co-worker & i just drove around until we came to Potbelly's. We each had a sandwich, cola and coffee. Food was very good, service was spot on & the small town atmosphere was great. I -will- make it a point to stop here again the next time in town.

Quaint riverside Cafe with outdoor seating along the road as well as ample additional seating inside. The food was excellent... Florentine omelette was exceptional... The down side was the rather off putting odor emminating inside. I am not sure if it was the old carpet, that needs to go, or something else. The service was the big disappointment, there were two servers and ours only had 2 tables, yet it took extensive effort to make a service sighting... Coffee sat empty for over half hour, took 20 minutes to find waitress and get the bill. Everyone was pleasant, food was great, yet the slow service makes me hesitant to return.

Today was my first time back inside the cafe in a while. Generally we door dash this spot bc its in an odd location for where we live so today I went out of my way for breakfast. I got the breakfast burrito, the stuffed french toast, and a western omelette. It was all amazing. Back to my earlier statement, when we order lunch, i always the the short rib sandwich with the fries. The only thing I recomend for this place is changing the prices for their drinks. When i order via door dash, a 12oz. can of soda is $2.50 which is ridiculous.

Very neat and welcoming restaurant. They provide generous meals and for economical rates. I enjoyed the meals a lot and the staff members were super affable and explanatory. Highly recommended.

Cozy place with very tasty food. Portions are good size and the price is not that bad. One of my favorite places to eat in Morris County. Service is very good and friendly as well. It takes them a little longer to prepare the food than normal but it is definitely worth the wait!

My husband, father and I stopped here after an early Home Depot run one Saturday and we had a great breakfast. We all had something different and we all left happy (and stuffed).

I have passed this place a million times and today was the day to stop to eat. The menu is big, so much to choose from. The main category listed is breakfast, so I ordered stuffed French Toast for Dinner. It was very good with the blend of jelly and cream cheese. They did recommend the seafood as an entree as well. Loved the location and the counter to grab a quick bite.. Look forward to trying more of the menu next visit.

Small place that could use an update as far as the decor goes but the food is always good. They have daily specials and their soups are sssoooo good! I sometimes just go in for a container of soup to go. So worth it.

Small town, no frills spot with a great breakfast.

This cozy cafe serves up a wonderfully deep and well-executed menu that I have grown to enjoy more as I have explored it. Their lamb shank special was incredible, in particular, and I hope it makes a reoccurrence.

Fast service. Food was wonderful. Our waitress, Alita was a gem; so polite and friendly! We WILL be back!

Excellent staff, no wait on Sunday morning, large portions, food was great! Seated right away with two kids under 4 years old and four adults (group of 6). Great food and a great place.

Went here for lunch once and it was good. Came back for breakfast with my boyfriend and dad and the service was the worst. Not coming back.

Best casual food around. Real food prepared to order with high quality ingredients. Best value around! The owner Rob is a local and a gem in the community.

Nice little place to be sitting outdoors for a lunch. I was there a nice warm autumn day for brunch. Minus half a star for not serving alcohol. Staff was very friendly and chill.

The food here is great. Doesn't come out as fast some as some places but always worth the wait.

Had a wonderful meal on a Wednesdays evening. We were the only people there and it was like having a great dinner at Grandma's. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer and attentive. Food was hot and tasty with large portions. Their home made garlic butter was very tasty on the rolls. We were even offered rolls and garlic butter to take home. We'll be back.

Service was very poor. Waited half hour to get a simple breakfast and no one else was in dinning room. Had to ask for more coffee, silver ware, ketchup, and creamer. Health hazzard! Yes. Dirty place, staff long nails and everyday random clothes. Used a dirty rag to wipe table, salt pepper shakers filthy , sugar holders never cleaned and ketchup dried on walls. Menus stained with coffee and god knows what else. Gross! They need to clean up the place and staff. I will tell everyone NOT to go there.

Ordered delivery from here and it was fantastic! It took a little while to get here but it's definitely because they were making it fresh. Very thrilled to try other things!l on the menu! Will be returning!

I had the French Toast.It was just 3 or 4 pieces of warm bread with powdered sugar.I always thought that French Toast was grilled after being dunked in a mixture of milk and eggs.This order definitely was't!!! Corrrct me if I am wrong.

12-08-18, went for breakfast. They had no bacon, which almost 70% of the meals on their menu contained. Went to order the Ranchero and they were also out of rice. Waited over an hour for food that that was tasteless. Watched multiple customers walk in and immediately leave for the lack of service, or even acknowledgement that they were even given. Will absolutely not be returning.

Excellent food. Friendly staff. We'll be back...
